Update

Well here is where the latest painting stands. I just got back to this one after a few days away. Still layering and changing shapes and forms. I plan to work on the hands, beard and tweak the face just a bit.

Oh and shoot a better picture when I am through with this one.

New painting

This is a new canvas I just finished building to make ready for a new painting I will be starting. The process is as follows; I cut and build all of my own stretcher bars and prime raw canvas. The priming process includes putting down a coat of rabbit skin glue then several light layers of gesso. I like the building process plus it allows me to control the surface I desire. The size is 40"x 45".

Small painting started

Ok so it's been awhile since I have posted. I have decided tonite I was going to get back at it and blast out an oil painting. This is about 1hr and 15min. Had lots of fun and will probably work this one a bit more.
